Oh, Hello!

It's February, it's sunny and we have been working steadily for the past month. I look around and it doesn't look like much is done but we have been working, really! I think it's because the things we are doing are things we usually take for granted. Things that should already be done in a normal house. Not this house though. This house with its popcorn ceiling and baseboard heaters. Ugh.

While you weren't looking we changed directions. We decided to hold off on finishing the flooring which would require us to troubleshoot and destroy the other half of our public area. We were not ready for this. We were also tired of our 9 x 10 box which included mattress and sad closet. We decided to put our efforts into transforming our three bedrooms. Here's what we have checked off our list so far:

Ceilings have been mudded, primed, textured and painted. check.
Disconnected baseboard heaters and thermostats. check.
Patched huge drywall holes from the heaters and thermostats. check.
Patched a plethora of holes in the walls. check.
Removed baseboard trim. check.
Removed and demolished bamboo floors. check.
Lots of sanding. check.
checked the list. check.

Doesn't seem like much but really it was a lot of work and patience. A lot of patience. We have ordered our carpet and now we wait. Don't worry though, we won't be bored. We still need to repair cracks in the drywall, paint, and figure out our transitioning from the carpet to the hallway wood floors.
